Memorial Park Wilsonville

We are making changes to our this event in response to Clackamas County being moved to “Extreme Risk” for COVID-19.

Despite the restrictions, we are looking forward to the event!

This event will follow special procedures due to COVID-19.

  • This will be a self start event instead of having CROC volunteers at the event for check-in and starts/finishes.

  • You will have a one hour start window instead of a specific start time.

  • We will be using the UsynligO phone app instead of e-punch. This is the same app that we used at our last event at Sexton Mountain and everyone had a great time.

  • Using the app is optional, but required if you want to record your results. (Remember to charge your phone.) Learn more about the UsynligO app here.

  • We will email the map to you instead of picking up the map at the event. You will print the map. Let the event director know if this will be a problem for you.

  • This event is open to anyone who is a member of an orienteering club.

  • The course will remain open through Saturday, May 8.

  • We are not conducting skills clinics or renting compasses at this event.

EVENT OVERVIEW

Memorial Park in Wilsonville by the Willamette river offers a good variety of terrain - open sports fields, dense forest with a maze of trails, some historical buildings, and a moderate amount of climbing.

Memorial Park will be a great starter event for 2021. The courses are easy to moderate in terms of both navigational and physical challenges and have a large number of controls which makes for a lot of positive feedback. The athletic fields will be out of bounds, due to the timing of the event. The courses will start and finish at the Splash Shelter in the NW corner of the park.

CROC thanks our partner Wilsonville Parks and Recreation for hosting this event.

TIMES

  • Course starts for day of event orienteers: Assigned between 9 AM and 1 PM on Sun May 2. You must complete your course by 3 pm.

  • Self-start orienteers: Set your own time (within park hours) when you arrive in the following week. Courses are automatically closed when the park is closed.
