Member training - Big Circle O and Control Description Sheets

Sat. Sept 14

Southwest Portland

10:00-11:30 a.m.

CROC advanced trainings are held for members each month for no cost. These workshops are either to improve individual orienteer skills on a course, or to improve the club’s ability to provide quality courses. This training teaches participants the control symbols: what each column means, and how to use them on the run.

After learning the columns of a control description sheet and several symbols, we’ll practice with a Big Circle O course. Within a large circle on the map, you should go to the one spot that is described in the control description sheet. This is good training for orienteers and course designers. Training starts at 10:00 a.m. for everyone.

Location A city park in SW Portland. For the exact location and to reserve a map, contact trainer Anndy Wiselogle by September 11.
