Line-O is a great exercise to help you focus on reading the map details and navigating. You will get a map with a dotted line showing the route to follow. Along that route there will be a number of control markers placed on the ground but not marked on the map.
For advanced orienteers, you will draw the control locations on your map and fill in the control descriptions.
Intermediate orienteers will also draw in the control locations, but will be provided clues to help identify the control locations. These clues may include control descriptions or other hints.
Please bring your COVID mask and wear it while we’re gathered and any time you can’t be six feet from others. Make sure your mask fits snugly around your face. N95 masks do that well. We are monitoring the changing cautions in Oregon.
The training is a benefit to CROC members, and there is no charge. There is an entrance fee for Champoeg Park.
Register by February 17 using the on-line waiver, where you also will select your start time. For questions and suggestions contact trainer Scott Drumm or training coordinator Anndy Wiselogle. Once you register, we’ll send you the instructions, the start location and the map which you will print.
