Route Planning for a Navigation Race

The CROC member training series offers an opportunity to practice and improve orienteering skills and learn with others. Each event will focus on particular orienteering aspects. The training series is for club members only. There is no cost for members for these informal events.

Description: The navigation race at Bend Ice Caves is coming soon, so here’s an opportunity to learn, exchange information, and practice designing your team route for a 3- or 6-hour navigation race. We’ll look at team goals and capability, and at considerations for planning your route. We’ll look at successful routes from other navigators, and we’ll practice in pairs making the best plan route using maps from a prior navigation race.
