Starts for Sprints/Races
- Sunday, July 15, 2018
- Woodlawn Park in NE Portland
- Starts: 10:00-11:00 am, course closes 11:30 am
The CROC member training series offers an opportunity to practice and improve orienteering skills and learn with others. Each event will focus on particular orienteering aspects. The training series is for club members only. There is no cost for members for these informal events.
In this training Starts for Sprints/Races, you will get several maps, each with a start triangle and just a couple controls. Your goal will be to turn over the map, locate the start triangle, orient yourself, and start towards the first control as fast as possible. There will be several different maps to try, and each map will be short, so you'll get lots of practice with starts!
This training can be done at any running speed - the faster you want to run, the faster you'll have to figure out where you are on the map and which way to go.
The location will be at Woodlawn Park in NE Portland. Contact Dan Grabski by July 12 for the exact location and to reserve a map for the training.
