Winter Workshop - Course Design

If you have an interest in course setting and course design, then we have a free winter workshop just for you! Orienteers with little to lots of experience in course design are invited to this free training (or idea exchange) on how to design good courses for White, Yellow, Orange, and Green foot-O, as well as Sprints.

After reviewing the standards for courses, we’ll look at what makes a good leg at each skill level, using lots of sample maps. Then everyone will have a chance to design a course (or portion of a course), and then exchange comments with another participant. We’ll finish with a couple tips on using Purple Pen (free course setting software) to quickly draw courses.

If you want an early start on course setting, check these links:

If you want to preview Purple Pen, check the YouTube tutorial below before you attend.
