This training event, through the open lands and hidden trails of Gabriel Park in Southwest Portland, will have two different options, for more beginning and more advanced orienteers. (Even if you think you know this park pretty well, we will have a few twists to make it more challenging.)
Please bring a compass, you will need it for the advanced course!
Meet at the parking lot next to the playground, basketball courts and baseball fields in the NE corner of the park; turn at SW 42nd and Vermont St.
This event is free.
Maps will be available from 6:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
As at all CROC meets, beginners are welcome! Participants or the meet director will be happy to give you tips for getting started in the sport.
RSVP: Please email the meet director by 5:00 p.m the day prior to the event so that we can print enough maps.
About the ZER-O Series: On all "ZER-O" dates (10th, 20th, 30th of the month) from May through September, CROC will offer practice courses - some with added training exercises - in different Portland area parks. These are informal events, with no fees, no timing and no results posted.
For questions about the ZER-O series, or if you'd like to host an event for the series, please contact Scott Drumm.
