Champoeg on Saturday was O-Intensive! Four day courses and one night course were the main events. Mike Poulsen designed a Temp-O course with several problems, with winners decided by a sudden-death playoff. Glen Cafferty set up an advanced String-O e-punch course which challenged runners' speed and punching dexterity. Lots of volunteers deserve a giant THANKS!! Pat Gottsacker designed the courses, set out controls, picked up day controls and put out the night ones; and stayed during the event to do registration, starts, and whatever else was needed. Whew! Jinnet Gottsacker spent the first four hours of her day also traveling the park to set the day course controls. Philip Kollas cheerfully taught a marathon of beginner clinics. Registration, starts, finishes: those jobs meets have to have! Thanks to David Rogers, Anndy Wiselogle, Scott Drumm, and Ellen Boomer for making it happen. Mike Poulsen and Glen Cafferty get thanks for setting up their unique and entertaining mini-events. Because several people used the same chip only the last time on that chip is recorded. If names had been entered before the chip was downloaded, it would have been possible to record each time. You all got the splits from your run, so if your results match a “reserve” entry, I can substitute your name if you send your information to glen.cafferty@comcast.net. The three mis-punched were early runners while there was still a problem with one of the controls.
